“In 1964 Fayette County leaders headed by Orville and Robert Eberly approached Penn State about opening a local campus and began a campaign to raise funds to support the project. University trustee J. Lewis Williams also backed the effort and a temporary campus was established in Uniontown. A permanent campus opened on this site in 1968 with the completion of the Eberly Building, a landmark to the family's vision for Penn State Fayette.”
