This lighthouse is located at the end of the pier on the east side of the entrance to the Chania harbour.
Chania is located in the northwest coast of Crete, in the Sea of Crete in the Mediterranean and is the 2nd largest city of Crete.
The original lighthouse was built by the Venetians in 1570. The present one was built by the Egiptians on the original base circa 1830-40.
It´s a cylindrical stone tower that is no longer operational and is currently an historical attraction for tourists.
The Chania harbour is a very pleasant place and well worth a visit. Unfortunately, the lighthouse is not open to the public.
This is all the information about this lighthouse that i have so contributions are welcome.
Also the photos are not the best but i was having some troubles with the camera.
