FR Le « Terrain de Peintres » se situe sur les hauteurs d’Aix en Provence, à quelques centaines de mètres de l’Atelier Cézanne, sur l’avenue qui porte aussi le nom du célèbre peintre.

Le « Terrain des Peintres» est un espace public connu pour sa vue extraordinaire sur la montagne Sainte Victoire. Cézanne venait souvent peindre dans cet environnement dans la dernière partie de sa vie. Un chemin a été aménagé de manière agréable le long du terrain et permet de franchir un dénivelé de l’ordre d’une trentaine de mètres pour finir sur une petite esplanade où, en hommage au peintre, plusieurs reproductions de ces tableaux, représentant Sainte Victoire sont disposées.

Ce musée en plein air constitue un complément naturel et vivant à l’Atelier Cézanne. Le « Terrain » a été aménagé par la Municipalité, sous la forme d’un jardin en terrasses successives, au début des années 2000 dans le cadre de la célébration du centenaire de Cézanne.

En installant son chevalet à proximité du chemin de la Marguerite, l’artiste choisit le point de vue le plus élevé par rapport à la montagne. Il y reviendra plusieurs fois, pour peindre des tableaux aujourd’hui conservées dans les grands musées du monde.

Ainsi outre les nombreux promeneurs Aixois, le lieu est également visité chaque année par des milliers de touristes. Dans ce cadre préservé les peintres peuvent y venir chercher l’inspiration. Parcitularité
Ici ne sont présentées que les reproductions des œuvres que ce peintre a réalisées ici. On voit l'évolution du style, des méthodes employées par l'artiste pour représenter cette montagne, la Sainte Victoire qui a inspirée tant d'autre peintre avant et après lui.




EN The "Terrain de Peintres" is located on the heights of Aix en Provence, a few hundred meters from the Atelier Cézanne, on the avenue which also bears the name of the famous painter.

The "Painters' Field" is a public space known for its extraordinary view on the Sainte Victoire mountain. Cezanne often came to paint in this environment in the latter part of his life. A path has been arranged in a pleasant way along the ground and allows to cross a drop in the order of about thirty meters and finish on a small esplanade where, in tribute to the painter, several reproductions of these paintings, representing Sainte Victoire Are arranged.

This open-air museum is a natural and living complement to the Atelier Cézanne. The "Terrain" was designed by the Municipality, in the form of a garden in successive terraces, in the early 2000s as part of the celebration of the centennial of Cezanne.

By setting up his easel near the Marguerite path, the artist chooses the highest point of view in relation to the mountain. He will come back several times, to paint paintings now preserved in the great museums of the world.

Besides the numerous Aixois walkers, the place is also visited each year by thousands of tourists. In this preserved framework painters can come to seek inspiration. Parcitularité
