This Borough of Wlatham Forest red plaque indicates the location of Arbutus Unedo or Strawberry Tree. The plaque is attached to a low, brick wall on the south west side of Forest Road close to the William Morris Gallery.

Planted in 2014 to celebrate local High Streets.
The strawberry tree features on a wallpaper
printed by the William Morris Company.
Native to the Mediterranean Region is is also found
in southern Ireland.
The name unedo can be explained
as "I eat one", referring to the
bitter and mealy taste of the fruit.
