Die etwa 1 Meter große Figur "Stehende Frau" der Bildhauerin und Malerin Hannelore Köhler (*1929) steht seit 1984 auf dem Burgplatz in Düsseldorf.
Die kleine, verschmitzt lächelnde Frau mit dem gerundeten Bauch stellt das Düsseldorfer Original "Frau Backhaus" dar. Die Mutter zahlreicher Kinder ist als eine an Erfahrungen reiche und mit Humor gereifte Person wiedergegeben. Sie versinnbildlicht das Selbstverständnis der im Bereich der Altstadt lebenden Bürgerinnen und Bürger, die mit Stolz die Historie und das Brauchtum ihres Stadtviertels pflegen.
The about 1 meter tall figure "Stehende Frau" ("Standing Woman") by the sculptress and painter Hannelore Köhler (*1929), stands on the Burgplatz in Düsseldorf since 1984.
The small, mischievously smiling woman with the rounded belly represents the Düsseldorf original "Frau Backhaus". The mother of many children is shown as a richly experienced and humorously mature person. She symbolizes the self-understanding of the citizens living in the old town, who are proud of the history and the customs of their city quarter.
