FR Comme l'ensemble des fontaines du village, le lavoir de Quinson fit partie du programme d'embellissement de la commune à la fin du XIXe siècle, suite à la concession des eaux du Verdon pour l'alimentation de la région d'Aix en Provence.
La particularité de ce lavoir réside dans la fontaine située à l'extrémité du bassin, dont la petite taille et la position face à la rue en font davantage un élément décoratif qu'utilitaire.
Ici, comme dans le reste du village, l'eau, fierté des habitants, est mise en scène et coule abondamment. malgré cela, le lavoir reste avant tout utilitaire : simplement couvert d'une charpente, il est placé à l'extrémité du village, près des champs où l'on pouvait étendre le linge pour qu'il sèche. Les barres suspendues qui permettaient de laisser s'égoutter le linge ont été conservées.
EN Like all the fountains of the village, the washhouse of Quinson was part of the program of embellishment of the municipality at the end of the XIXe century, following the concession of the waters of Verdon for the food of the region of Aix en Provence .
The particularity of this washhouse lies in the fountain located at the end of the basin, whose small size and the position facing the street make it more a decorative than a utilitarian element.
Here, as in the rest of the village, water, the pride of the inhabitants, is staged and flows abundantly. In spite of this, the wash-house remains above all utilitarian: simply covered with a framework, it is placed at the end of the village, near the fields where you could spread the linen to dry. The suspended bars which let the linen drain are kept.
