E. J. Roche's WOW headstone is not the traditional tree stump. It is a stack of five horizontal logs, with a wide sculpted ribbon, with raised lettering. The seal is mounted on the front side of the logs, flowing over the top of the ribbon.

The inscription in raised lettering reads:

July 27, 1915

through Jesus Christ our Lord
