Allen Cemetery is a three-acre cemetery located on the south side of E. McDermott Drive, east of Highway 75 in Allen, TX. According to an historical marker at the entrance, it was formally established on April 5, 1884 by IOOF Lodge #249.
The oldest headstone shows a death in 1883, however, it is believed there are numerous unmarked burial sites earlier than that, including those of Civil War slaves.
The area is flat with just a few trees, and is bisected in both directions by gravel driveways. There are 1245 burials at this location.
