When the small town of Coeburn Virginia celebrated their centennial of incorporation in 1995, they buried a time capsule to be opened in the town's sesquicentennial in February 2045.
The time capsule is located in front of the town's old railroad depot that has been restored and repurposed as a local tourism information center in downtown Coeburn VA.
The time capsule plaque reads as follows:

PLACED BY THE 1995 CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE
God of our future,
Send us Your special
Blessings in this new century.
Fill the days, weeks, and months
With new hope, with peace,
And with deep love.
Town of Coeburn Virginia
Incorporated February 23, 1894
