Built around 1770 it a good example of Georgian Colonial architecture.

The house is located on land once owned by Samuel Sedgwick a very prominent early settler of the area. Benjamin Colton purchased the land, was the son of the first pastor of the West Division's Congregational Church. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
