The town of Luang Prabang, Laos is small, but it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major tourist attraction. One of the attractions is this museum. It houses displays of Laos culture and history, encourages research, and has a gift shop where half of the price goes directly to local craftspeople. There is also a cafe, children's room, and a conference area (all small). Price is 25,000 Kip ($3). Worth the price!
The Museum is back from the street, atop a low hill. Look for the street sign.
The Museum building was originally the residence of the local French magistrate, since then it has gone through several incarnations.
