Das Wappen zeigt eine silberne (hier weiße) Burg mit offenem Tor und drei gezinnten Türmen. Über den kleineren mittleren Turm schwebt ein goldener (hier gelbes) Schild mit einem schwarzen Löwen. Seitlich je ein Turm mit Kuppel und Knauf in Silber (hier in Weiß) und aufgelegten Schildern; Rechts in Silber eine rote Rose mit grünen Kelchblättern und goldenem Butzen, links im geteilten goldenem (hier weißen) Schild ein schwarzer Löwe und unten drei rote Schrägrechtsbalken.
Das Wappen ist als Metallverzierung am Eingang des Colditzer Rathaus angebracht. Die Farben variieren ein wenig von dem offiziellen Stadtwappen.
The coat of arms shows a silver (here white) castle with an open gate and three castellated towers. A golden (here yellow) coat of arm with a black lion stands over the smaller central tower. Each side has a tower with a dome and knob in silver (here in white) and a set of coat of arms; On the right in silver is a red rose with green sepals and a golden spike, on the left in the split golden (here white) tag a black lion and below three red skew bars.
The coat of arms is attached as a metal ornament at the entrance of the Colditz town hall. The colors vary slightly from the official coat of arms of the city.
