From the Penrith Observatory website:
"The Penrith Observatory is part of the School of Computing Engineering and Mathematics and is operated by a dedicated team of volunteer staff and students that are part of the Astrophysical eScience Laboratory."

There is just a small parking area at the front of the observatory. Viewing is permitted through the 0.6 metre telescope (weather permitting) by contacting and booking an evening session. Phone: (02) 4736 0135

Jay (Jerome) Apt, born 28 April 1948, had been an astronaut for NASA from 1985-1997. He had two space walks. Currently he is a Professor for Tepper School of Business, and Co-Director, Carnegie Mellon Electricity Industry Center, Carnegie Mellon University (from 2010). Also he is an Affiliated Professor in Engineering & Public Policy for Carnegie Mellon University, 2010-
