The East Grinstead High Street is home to the longest continuous run of 14th century jacobean timber-framed buildings in England. Another notable building that was constructed around this time in East Grinstead is Sackville College. Most of the buildings along the High Street are protected and grade II listed.

Today, the High Street is at the heart of the town's community and is often used to hold events, some of which are themed around the time the buildings were built (i.e. Sunday Before Christmas).
