Henson Cemetery is the black cemetery for this once-thriving Fayette County community. The white cemetery is across the street.

The most amazing tombstone we saw in either of these 2 cemeteries was located in humble Henson Cemetery, the "colored" cemetery, and it belonged to John L Burk, who died in 1907 at the age of 2.

We were not able to find out anything else about him on Ancestry or on Find-A-Grave.

His tombstone reads as follows:

"JOHN L. BURK

Bobn [sic] Mar. 8 1905
Died Nov 10, 1907"
Date of Birth: 8 Mar 1905

Date of Death: 10 Nov 1907

Material: Stone
