The Carolaturm is a tower on the hillside of the Mosel near the district Lay. It was build in 1895. It has a height of about 7m and it offers a great scenic view. If is build as an 5/8 octogon. It is designed like a castles from the medieval. The tower was named by the wife of the former mayor Emil Schüller who initiated this tower.

The tower can be reached by car, but parking placed are not available direct at the tower. Alternatively you can hike Layer Bergweg up to the Hunsrück.
