The grassed area is known as Jardins Bioves (Bioves Gardens), named after a former mayor of Menton.
It was sculpted by Antonniucci Volti an Italian born sculptor who for most of his life lived on the French southern coast near to Menton.
He specialised in sculpting nude women.
