FR La fontaine du Mitan ou de la Place vieille ou de Souspire ou des Pénitents blanc ou (enfin !) la Petite Fontaine.
Avec son lavoir oblong situé sous l’immeuble d’angle, la base très particulière du bassin de la fontaine présente cinq côtés et un quart de cercle sur sa face est.
A l’époque, elle gênait le passage de la circulation de la diligence de Monsieur Nègre qui livrait les colis et amenait les voyageurs. Du fait de l’agrandissement de la zone urbaine et de la nécessité de garder ce point d’eau, elle fut déplacée en 1874 vers le lavoir qui n’existait pas encore. L’eau de la surverse servait pour le lavage de la bugade puis pour les jardins et si il en restait, l’eau allait jusqu’au Rancure. Les balayures autour étaient récupérées comme engrais que l’on se disputait.
Le lavoir fut construit après la fontaine dans un renforcement sur une voie de communication principale : Oraison - Le Castellet.

With its oblong washroom located under the corner building, the very particular base of the basin of the fountain has five sides and a quarter circle on its east face.
At the time, it hampered the passage of the circulation of the diligence of Monsieur Nègre who delivered the parcels and brought the travelers. Due to the expansion of the urban area and the need to keep this water point, it was moved in 1874 to the laundry that did not yet exist. The water from the overflow was used for washing the bugade and then for the gardens and if there were any left, the water would go as far as Rancure. The sweepings around were recovered as fertilizer that was disputed.
The washhouse was built after the fountain in a reinforcement on a main communication route: Oraison - Le Castellet.
