MW0841 - USC&GS 'STALEY' Reference Mark 1 - Newell, CA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey reference mark in good condition. The mark is located about 30 feet north of the triangulation station. The NGS datasheet description is somewhat obsolete. The Japanese concentration camp only comprises a few preserved buildings and there is no longer any Staley sign. Only one of the two sheds mentioned survives. The cross of the two Indian soldiers from the Modoc War still stands.
