The Heritage Museum is in the 1904 Carnegie Library Building, which served the City of Terrell until the mid 1980s when a new library building was constructed.

When you enter note the twin staircases in the foyer. The basic plan of the interior and its finish work have remained unchanged since the library opened in 1904.
The Heritage Society Archives are housed on the second floor where students and researchers can access them. The collection includes over 2,400 photographs of life and people from the early days of Terrell to present.
