Overlooking the beautiful Kootenay Lake, The Cycles of Nature explains the devastation caused by the northern pine beetle.

The Kuskanook rest area is very well maintained and offers a boat ramp, picnic tables and bathrooms, and outstanding views of the Kootenay Lake. You can fish off the dock and the boat launch is open all year depending on winter conditions and lake level.

In the twenty years living in the area, we have witnessed this massive destruction of the pine forests throughout British Columbia.
