Das Denkmal steht in der Ortsmitte von München-Aubing, gegenüber vom Maibaum.
Es wurde im Jahr 1900 errichtet und dient der Erinnerung, der im Feldzug gegen Frankreich gefallenen Soldaten, die in Aubing gewohnt haben. Das Denkmal ist ein öffentliches Denkmal der Stadt München-Aubing.
Auf einem steinernen Sockel mit Inschrift steht eine Soldatenfigur.
An einer Denkmalwand im Hintergrund sind die Gefallenen des 2. Weltkrieges aufgeführt. Auf dem Denkmal selber werden auch die unversehrt zurückgekehrten Kriegsteilnehmer geehrt.
Der Volkstrauertag ist ein Gedenktag für die vielen Opfer der beiden Weltkriege und der Gewaltherrschaft in der Welt – auch Aubing gedenkt dieser Opfer alljährlich mit einem Gottesdienst sowie mit einem Trauerzug zum Kriegerdenkmal.

The monument stands in the center of Munich-Aubing, opposite the Maypole.
It was built in the year 1900 and serves the memory of the soldiers who died in the campaign against France, who lived in Aubing. The monument is a public monument of the city of Munich-Aubing.

On a monument wall in the background are the fallen of the Second World War. On the monument itself, the soldiers who have returned undisturbed are also honored.
The memorial day is a memorial day for the many victims of the two world wars and the world's tyranny - Aubing also commemorates these victims every year with a worship service and a funeral procession to the war memorial.
