Old Salem Cemetery is all that remains of Davisville, Mississippi.
Davisville was established prior to the Civil War and was home to a post office, a general store, a stage coach stop, and at least one church. The town declined after the railroad was built through nearby Vossburg. The post office closed, and the town faded away.
Old Salem Cemetery is the final resting place of Pvt Edward Terrall Sr, who fought in the South Carolina militia during the Revolutionary War. In addition, 13 Confederate soldiers and about 100 others are buried here. Some of the graves do not have headstones.
