Tooth of Time, Philmont Scout Ranch - Mountain Summits on Waymarking.com

One of the traditions at Philmont Scout Ranch is that nearly every trek crosses a ridge called "Tooth of Time." This rugged, rocky ridge extends from Shaefer's Peak east to the main base camp at Philmont.

On the last night of our trek, we camped on the saddle just to the west of Shaefer's Peak. The next morning, we hiked east across Shaefer's Peak and Tooth of Time Ridge. Considering the tens of thousands of people who had hiked this trail, it was remarkably rough and rocky. Other than the rocks, it was an easy hike.
