In 1945, Panhard and the Societe de l'Aluminium Franc, studied with Facel the construction of the first DynaPanhard.
Thus, Facel built 45,000 aluminum bodies for Panhard.
In 1948, Facel inaugurated a department of eerie luxury cars: 23,500 SimcaSport and 2,200 Ford Comete, not to mention the famous Bentley Cresta, of which 17 units were produced in our factories.
In 1950, Vespa scooters' body parts were manufactured directly from Piaggio and completed the range of our manufactures as well as the stamped and welded parts of the small Vespa 400 car. Then Facel began manufacturing the bodies of the French jeep , The Delahaye VLR, in its factory in Dreux.
The increase in backlog and production required a third manufacturing plant: the Amboise plant, which subsequently became the central stamping plant.
Thus Facel had specialized in three perfectly distinct branches:
1) Automotive: factories of Colombes and Dreux.
2) Aviation and stainless steel equipment, Amboise plant.
3) Stamping and tolery, factory of Amboise.
At that time Facel produced about 100 cars of different models per day and employed a staff of 1,700 workers, managers and engineers.
