Our Lady of Guadalupe, appearing to Juan Diego is memorialized in a statue in front of this mausoleum. Curved walls on either side of the statue compose the mausoleum. The walls and the statue face the East and the rising sun. The walls also offer some protection from the late afternoon sun. The structure is open to the sky.
