This two lane boat ramp is by the marina on the side toward the large Visitors Center at Flamingo in the Florida Everglades. Years ago the park decided to "plug" Buttonwood Canal to keep water from freely flowing back and forth between the canal and the waters to the north and Florida Bay. These lanes are on the Florida Bay side.
For a while, the plug itself included a powered boat sling for allowing boats to be moved to either side of the plug, but that was removed after a few years. The boat ramp itself has no fee, but one must pay the federal entrance fee to the Everglades National Park to get here.
