[FR] Le plus gros blockhaus du nord de la France, témoin de cette sombre période que fut 1939-1945. Ouvert au public depuis 1973, il est classé Monument Historique en 1985. Il faisant partie du système de défense allemande datant de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, en arrière du mur de l'Atlantique. Le premier projet de l'organisation Todt est présenté par l'architecte Albert Speer à Hitler en mars 1942. Les travaux de cette construction en béton, destinée à abriter une base de fabrication de missiles V2 et une usine de production d'oxygène liquide, s'échelonnent de décembre 1942 à novembre 1943 ; le chantier fait appel à 2 000 hommes. Les plans de la structure sont signés par l'ingénieur Xavier Dorsch, chef régional de l'organisation Todt. Bombardé en août 1943 et de nouveau en 1944, le blockhaus est abandonné en mars de la même année, sans que jamais ses installations n'aient fonctionné.

It is part of the German defense system dating from the Second World War, behind the Atlantic Wall. The first project of the Todt organization was presented by architect Albert Speer to Hitler in March 1942.
