This zinc headstone is typical of those issued, average in size, with the same general floral detail. What was at the top, probably something in the shape of a closed tulip, has been broken off. The main panel has been painted or is a replacement, as its gold lettering on a black background stands out from the rest of the headstone. It says:

Fannie
M.
Elmer.

Wife of
E. Toogood,

Born
March 26, 1859,

Died
November 19, 1886.

Aged 27 Yrs.

The family name, "Toogood", is on the plinth. One panel has an epitaph, "To know her was to love her" while the other two panels each feature a rose and a lily of the valley. Note "American White Bronze Co./Chicago Ill." on the base on the reverse.
