This detailed sign gives a lot of information about the various animals and plants that live in the Chihuahuan Desert, which encompasses this part of West Texas.

Sharp-eyed visitors to this rest area are guaranteed to see several of the creatures and all of the plants.

The day Blasterz visited, we saw scorpion homes, black widow spiders with egg sacs, and some jack rabbits -- all creatures that are adapted to the desert and do very well here.
