One of the routes of the pilgrimage to the tomb of the Apostle James to Santiago de Compostela, the Way of St. James, also goes through Carinthia, starting at Lavamünd over the Rosental to Villach and through the Upper Drautal up to Lienz. Just about few kilometers eastwardly from Villach leads the route above the shore of a beautiful alpine lake - Lake Faak (Faaker See). The marker is very close to a vantage site with a beautiful wayside shrine, a bench for pilgrims to take a rest on their pilgrimage. The Way Marker contains both sign and the name (Jakobsweg).
