The calanque of Port-Miou is the most oriental calanque of the coasts between Marseille and Cassis. It houses a small marina, which still contains a little more than 500 boats.

The word calanque refers to a valley dug by a river and then recovered by the sea. The Massif des Calanques is a wild and rugged terrain stretching from the ninth arrondissement of Marseille to the east towards Cassis, spanning 20 km in length and 4 km in width along the coast. Its highest peak is Mont Puget at 565m. This is one of France's great natural beauty areas and has been protected by a national park (Parc National des Calanques) since 2012.
The marina of Port-Miou can be reached by road, and parking allows boaters to leave their vehicles before excursions or access to their boats.
It has no beach, but due to the road access, it is the departure from Cassis side of the hikes in the massif des Calanques.
This calanque is made up of two banks and on these two banks there are pontoons so that the boaters can access their boat. In the middle of the shore where there was the quarry is a small castle which is the former residence of the miners but which today houses the Captaincy of the Port of Plaisance.
