In Wilmington, from to peak of Mt. Whiteface, is a web camera that is fixed on part of the summit in the foreground, and the high peaks in the background.

Mt. Whiteface is the fifth highest peak in the Adirondacks. One way to reach the summit is by the autoroad that climbs from the north side of the mountain. Ny Route 431 runs to the end. There is a toll to drive (depends on how many people are in the vehicle). The autoroad reaches a parking area short of the summit. From there, you can either go up an elevator or walk up a steep trail to the peak.

At the peak is a building complex. The taller part is cylindrical in shape The web cam is mounted on this building. I'm not sure where it is. Nothing that I saw on the top among the weather instruments definitively looked like a camera. There is something in one of the windows of the building, but I'm not sure, of that, either.

The foreground is an extension of the peak about 200 ft to the south east and not more than 100 ft below the actual summit. It is rocky but not hard to walk to. In the web cam view, you can see people walking around.

The background is a grouping of tall peaks that includes the Adirondack's highest peak, Mt. Marcy.

The web cam is operated by The Wild Center, a nature museum in Tupper Lake. The State University of New York at Albany, which runs the field station, has a link to this web cam, as well as a link to a time lapsed composite of these images.
