In the Harrietstown village of Saranac Lake is the Berkeley Square National District.

The district is located mostly along Main Street and Broadway. Buildings are along both of these roads and possibly one more on Woodruff Street.

A web site (now on Archive.org) has details on this district. The village probably began with a sawmill built in 1827 located south of Main Street and New York Route 86. From there, the village grew. Doctor Edward Livingston Trudeau came up to Saranac Lake to be healed of tuberculosis. He ended up staying and establishing his laboratory here to find a real cure for tuberculosis. More people came to Saranac to find relief/healing from tuberculosis and the village continued to grow. Most buildings were built between 1867 and 1932. Today, Trudeau's lab still exists (but is elsewhere in Saranac), but the area is now mostly a recreation and resort destination.

A summary list of contributing buildings include:

- Harrietstown Town Hall - the present building built in 1928 replaced the old town hall that burned down in 1926.
- T.F. Finnegan Building - built in 1900, this building has a clothing shop that is run by the owner's grandson.
- Hasse Block - Designed by architects scopes and Feustmann, it was the office of the Saranac Lake National Bank.
- Fowler Block - was built in 1900 and was the location of the Adirondac Enterprise.
