The Ft. Myers Regional Library is one of 13 branches of the Lee County Library System which was founded in 1964. It is located at 2450 First Street in downtown Ft. Myers in what was once the First National Bank parking lot and now known as Cornog Plaza.

Cornog Plaza is named after June Cornog who was a retired U.S. Navy commander and a former resident of the Calusa Harbour senior riverfront community located within walking distance of this library. After her death she left a bequest of more than one million dollars to the library.

The library was formerly located at 2050 Central Ave. It opened at its new location on December 11, 2013.

Amenities of the library include 80 computers offering Internet access, meeting rooms, study rooms, printer and scanner capabilities and Wi-Fi. The library also houses the main collection of legal, business, news, and financial information and The New York Times on microfilm.

Historical Trivia: Olive Stout started the first reading room in Ft. Myers and was pivotal in founding its first library. Olive arrived in Fort Myers in 1886.
