I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey BM from 1957 in good condition. The grocery store and painted letter mentioned in the datasheet are gone.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1957 4.8 MI NW FROM CAMP RICHARDSON. 4.8 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 89 FROM THE POST OFFICE AT CAMP RICHARDSON, AT THE SUMMIT OF A GRADE, AT THE BAY VIEW PICNIC GROUNDS, IN THE TOP OF A 9- BY 10-FOOT GRANITE OUTCROP WHICH PROJECTS 5 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND, 116 FEET EAST OF AND ACROSS THE HIGHWAY FROM THE EAST CORNER OF THE BAY VIEW GROCERY STORE AND GIFT SHOP, 64 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 29 1/2 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF A DRIVEWAY LEADING SOUTHEAST TO PICNIC TABLES, ABOUT 5 FEET HIGHER THAN THE HIGHWAY, AND MARKED BY THE YELLOW PAINTED LETTERS USBM.
