Built on piles between 1772 and 1775, the pavilion is surmounted by a square tower of 24m high, itself adorned with a clock. The bell inside the wrought iron dome and the clock signaled the start and finish time of work at the navy base. The beautifully decorated 4-sided clock, indicates the hours in Roman numerals.

Le pavillon, bâti sur pilotis entre 1772 et 1775, est surmonté d'une tour carrée de 24m, elle-même ornée d'une horloge avec cadran horaire. La Tour carrée de l'Horloge était une tour de guet, située à l'intérieur de l'arsenal de Toulon. Elle est visible à partir de l'entrée principale. La cloche à l'intérieur du clocher en fer forgé et l'horloge annonçaient les heures de début et de fin de travail à l'Arsenal. L'horloge à 4 faces indique les heures en chiffres romains.
