The Winter church (Winterkirche) known also as Rosary Church (Rosenkranzerkirche) at Maria Wörth is one of two churches which were stand on a former island in the Wörthersee which were the possessions of the Bishop of Freising and were founded around 875 for the Christianization of the Slavic peoples of the area. The above mentioned Winter Church was build during 12th century and during centuries was rebuild. On its southern façade the simple vertical sundial can be found.
