Dates I can not tie down. but ownership's I remember and can confirm with other oral history.
Built as an elementary school for this community, and was vacated when the county consolidated the schools in the district systems.
Sometime after that it became Isabella's Restaurant. A very popular and well regarded restaurant in the 50's thru 80's in this and surrounding counties.
When the nearby north-south bound highway (US-61) the main road in these parts, became a divided highway, Main Street was cut off, and easy access to the restaurant was not longer available.
Sat empty for a while and then was occupied by Lindenwood University. It was a branch or Extension School for the St. Charles County University.
Today it is empty again, and looks as if someone is working on it. New coat of paint, some construction equipment, and redoing the drive/parking areas. So someone is planning to move in. I wonder who?
