In Whitehall, in the Skenesborough Museum, is this exactly made model of the steamship, Ticonderoga.

The museum is located in the center of the village of Whitehall along Main Street and by the Champlain Canal.

The inside is partly a museum and partly a tourist information center. The ship is in the back room where there are many things, including old fire trucks suspended above you. The ship is on a table by itself.

The model is about three feet long and about two feet high, including stack. The word, "Ticonderoga," is visible along the side, around the bridge, behind the bridge, and on a flag. There is a side paddlewheel. The ship has two deck and then the bridge. Details are super on this model. Every railing is on it. There is an anchor and chain.

By the boat model is a black and white photo of the boat in the lake. Presently the boat is part of the Shelburne Museum. It's amazing that they were able to move the boat so far inland to be part of the museum.

The Ticonderoga was a steam paddleboat that traveled on Lake Champlain. It was launched in 1906 at the Shelburne Shipyard. The boat typically went from Westport, NY to St. Albens, VY, running north and south in the lake. The boat continued to run to about 1950. In 1954, the boat was moved over land to the museum. Today, you can go in the boat and see its preserved interior.
