Confluence of Slunjcica River and Korana River is located in Rastoke, Croatia. As Slunjcica River flows into Korana River numerous waterfalls are created. Coordinates were taken at the opposite side of confluence as this location allows best views towards confluence and waterfalls.
Slunjcica River flows through the Kordun region in central Croatia. It partly flows underground through porous karst and surfaces in the vicinity of the city of Slunj. The city of Slunj bears its name from this river. It is 6.5 km long and its origin is at Slusnicko Lake.
Korana River flows through central Croatia and west Bosnia and Herzegovina. The river has a total length of 134 km and watershed area of 2,595 km2. Its origin is in the eastern parts of Lika, creates the world-famous Plitvice Lakes (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Downstream from Plitvice Lakes the Korana river forms a 25 kilometers long border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina near Cazin. From there it flows northwards through Croatia, where it finally reaches its confluence with River Kupa in Karlovac.
