EN: The Reformed Church of Rothenfluh stands slightly elevated north of the historic village center. A staircase leads from the west to the terrace, but not straight to the entrance under the steeple.

The simple country church has a single nave, whose five window rows are divided with pilaster strips. The church was rebuilt in 1852 according to plans by J.J. Stehlin-Burckhardt. The church tower dates from 1613 and was taken over unchanged from the predecessing building. The predecessor was built in the 14th century according to archaeological research. But this was probably not the first church, since it is known that Rothenfluh had a second parish church of St. Georg in the Middle Ages. The two parishes were put together in the 13th century, and the other church was demolished in 1534, its former location is not documented.

In 1525, Rothenfluh was the first parish in the region to join the Refomation. Even today 75% of the inhabitants are reformed.

DE: Die reformierte Kirche von Rothenfluh steht etwas erhöht nördlich vom historische Dorfkern. Eine Treppe führt von Westen auf die Terrasse, aber nicht direkt zum Eingang unter dem Kirchturm.

Die einfache Landkirche hat ein Langhaus, dessen fünf Fensterachsen mit Pilasterstreifen gegliedert sind. Die Kirche wurde 1852 nach Plänen von J.J. Stehlin-Burckhardt neu erbaut. Der Kirchturm stammt aus dem Jahr 1613 und wurde unverändert übernommen. Der Vorgängerbau stammte nach archäologischen Untersuchungen aus dem 14. Jahrhundert. Das war aber wohl auch nicht die erste Kirche, da man weiss, dass Rothenfluh im Mittelalter neben St. Stephan noch eine Kirche St. Georg besass. Die beiden Pfarreien wurden im 13. Jahrhundert zusammengelegt und die andere Kirche 1534 abgebrochen, ihr damaliger Standort ist heute nicht mehr bekannt.

Rothenfluh war 1525 die erste Pfarrei in der Region, die sich der Refomation anschloss. Auch heute sich noch 75% der Einwohner reformiert.
