One of a number of dated buildings on the main street of Barraba. Barraba is a small country town which grew on the back of mining for gold, copper & asbestos but is now an agricultural and pastoral centre, with beef, fine wool and grains making up the major industries.
The year of construction is surrounded by ornamental plasterworks & the building appears to have the original paint work. Commercially it is now a real estate agency. It is in a good state of repair.
