"The Community Baptist Church in Glen Aubrey started out as a Methodist church in 1867, housing a large congregation full of familiar Glen Aubrey names like Councilman, Hawver, Walter, Lewis Swan, Allen, Riley, and Tappen. In the 1920s and 1930s, membership dropped off, and there was no longer a pastor there. In the late 1930s or 1940's the Baptist Conference asked to use the church and leased the building for 99 years, a period which has not yet expired. The current name of the church is the Community Baptist Church."
