Creamery Park was created as a runoff basin for a surrounding apartment complex. In an agreement with the complex, the City of Tempe required that the basin be landscaped as a park. It is 2.8 acres in size and includes a dog exercise area. The name is unique among the many Tempe parks in that it is titled after a historic structure rather than an individual. Just down the street are the buildings of the Borden Creamery, now the Four Peaks Brewery. The creamery began operations in 1892 as an ice plant and soon was adapted to produce ice cream as well. The park includes basketball courts, picnic areas with grills, a playground and a ramada.
