This is the former home of the Methodist Church located at the corner of East Main Street and North Wilson Street in Mt. Sterling. The date on the building indicates it was built in 1883. The building was added to the US National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
The Montgomery County Arts Council purchased the church building in 2002 and it formally opened as the Gateway Regional Arts Center in 2009.
