"The Parish Church of St. Lawrence in Ahrweiler in northern Rhineland-Palatinate is the oldest hall church in the Rhineland."
Die gotische Kirche ist dreischiffig und durch Strebepfeiler gegliedert. Das Mauerwerk besteht aus verputztem Bruchstein. Der eingebaute Turm ist ab Dachansatz dreigeschossig und wird von Giebelkranz und Spitzhelm abgeschlossen. Letzterer ist ein Werk des Trierer Dombaumeisters Wilhelm Schmitz. Dieser hat in der Zeit zwischen 1899 und 1912 die Ahrweiler Laurentiuskirche maßgeblich renoviert und umgestaltet. Das Langhaus ist vier Joche lang, jedes Joch auf jeder Seite trägt ein Walmdach. Daran schließt sich jeweils ein schräg gestellter Seitenchor an."

"The Gothic church is divided three naves by buttresses. The masonry consists of plastered rubble stone. The built tower has three storeys from the roof approach and will be completed by pediment crown and spire. The latter is the work of Trier cathedral architect Wilhelm Schmitz. This has the Ahrweiler Laurentius Church significantly renovated and redesigned in the period between 1899 and 1912th The nave is four bays long, every yoke on each side carries a hipped roof. This is followed in each case followed by a tilted side choir. "
