Right by the entrance to the Kaubisch Memorial Public Library the years 1913 and 1968 are engraved on the facade. The library is located at 205 Perry St. in Fostoria.
In 1892 the Fostoria High School Alumni Library was opened to the public with a membership fee of $1.00 per year. In 1900 a grant from the city of Fostoria was obtained so that the library became "free" to all citizens. Money was donated by Mrs. Louisa McClean and a grant from Andrew Carnegie made it possible for the Library to be built on its present site in 1913. The generosity of Fostorian Arthur Kaubisch made a large addition possible in 1968. Another significant gift was presented by Don and Judy Miller and the citizens of Fostoria passed a five year tax levy to add yet another addition in 1989.
