"Sinds 10 februari 2007 staat op de hoek van de Zuivelmarkt en de Botermarkt ‘Batopillo’, een beeld van de Antwerpse kunstenaar Panamarenko. De figuur probeert aan de hand van propellers op zijn rug een plaats in het luchtruim te verkrijgen.
Kunstenaar Panamarenko studeerde aan de Antwerpse Academie. Hij raakte in de ban van vliegtuigen en vliegen op eigen kracht. Dit is dan vaak ook het onderwerp van zijn werken. Bij 'Batopillo' is dit niet anders.
De sculptuur van ongeveer twee meter groot werd in 2005 gemaakt en staat op een drie meter hoge zuil in inox.
Voor Hasselt staat het beeldhouwwerk symbool voor haar vele dromen en de wil om ze te realiseren. 'Batopillo' was een geschenk van de uittredende legislatuur. Onderaan het beeld staat een plaatje met de namen van de 39 gemeenteraadsleden van de legislatuur 2001-2006."

Hasselt is the sculpture symbolizes her many dreams and the will to achieve them. "Batopillo" was a gift from the outgoing legislature. Below the screen is a plaque with the names of the 39 councilors of the legislature from 2001 to 2006."
