In 1883 Friends from Ontario began to worship in the Quaker movement on Lulu Island. By 1911 a monthly meeting was established. In the early part of the 20th century a Meeting House was acquired on West 10th Avenue. However in 1968 that building was sold.

At some point in the early 1970s this Salvation Army Chapel was purchased by the Vancouver Friends and it continues to serve the community.
